The number 2 rank among world’s richest person has been taken by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. He has pushed back Amancio Ortega and Warren Buffet to be world’s second richest person. Amazon’s share price has risen to $18.32 and Bezos has been able to add $1.5 billion to his fortunes.
Bloomberg website has reported that Bezos now has a net worth of $75.6 billion on Bloomberg Billionaire index. This year Bezos has been able to add $10.2 billion to his wealth. Reportedly, $7 billion of this has come after he began following Donald Trump as US President on November 8th, 2016.
Bezos is now only $10.4 billion behind Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft who is the richest person in the world. Amazon had entered into a deal with Souq earlier but has now walked away from the same. Souq has now come up with a deal worth $650 million. It is an auction site and has evolved into a marketplace for third party sellers.
Amazon will greatly benefit from acquiring this company and it is with this thought that it has again begun thinking on these lines. It is such decisions as this one which eventually will make Jeff Bezos, the richest person and he is close second now to Bill Gates.
