H-1B visas: TCS to hire more in US

The top software service exporter Tata Consultancy Services is planning to step up the local hiring in the United States and is in no mood to cut on the investments in the United States. It also expects robust growth from one of its biggest overseas markets.

The Head of Asia Pacific Region of TCS, Girish Ramachandran said that TCS has been recruiting heavily in the United States during the past four to five years and will continue the trend. He told this to Reuters during an interview on the sidelines of Boao Forum for Asia. This summit was being held in Hainan province of China.

Interestingly, Tata Consultancy Services earns half of its revenue from the United States only and it remains hopeful about its prospects in the United States. This is due to the fact that consumption of its IT services is very good in the United States and hence the interest and inclination can be understood naturally.

The Indian IT industry is worth $150 billion and it has been gearing up for reform on the distribution of H-1B Visa. This visa is critical for anyone aspiring for a career in the United States and it is interesting to observe on the kind of changes which Donald Trump might bring eventually in the acquisition of this visa.
