5 Habits Of Highly Successful People To Motivate You Towards Your Goal

Habits are patterns that govern the way we live; every habit that is formed or broken sets of a series of changes in us. These practices help us to define and shape our lives. To have a successful and productive life, it is important to have a set of habits that you follow with consistency. Most of the successful people in the world have certain rules that they have made for themselves, and they live by it. This helps them to make the optimum use of their abilities and also function to their full caliber.

Even basic habits followed diligently can have a profound impact on everyday life. These are certain daily habits that are practiced by the famous and successful people in the world:

#1. Taking risks

Being a risk taker is a habit that many can’t dare to imbibe in their life. It has it's positive and at times certain adverse outcomes too, but the truth is that success lies out of your comfort zone and you need to do everything to chase it. Take Sam Walton for example; he is a respected and recognized entrepreneur best known for founding the Wal-Mart stores. This billionaire had no qualms pretending to rob a retail store in Brazil to measure the width of the aisles and was thrown in jail for it. He just wanted to find out if those guys know something he was missing out in his stores.

#2. Sleep matters

Your brain and body need rest to function properly and only then can your mind yield new ideas and concepts. Staying true to this, Arianna Huffington, LeBron James, and Jeff Bezos make sure they get 7-9 hours of sleep every day. Being well rested takes the top most priority on their list as they all feel that more sleep equals to more productivity.

#3. Being a Bibliophile

Books are a vast ocean of knowledge, and you can’t ever collect enough. At least this what Bill Gates believes, books have had a profound effect on his life and now being at the top of the success ladder, he has not given up this old habit. During his early days at Microsoft, he would take reading retreats and remains devoted to his books. Elon Musk also reads two books per day as a kid, and Warren Buffet knows for at least 4-6 years each day.

#4. Less sleep, more work

From the sleep lovers to the insomniacs. On the one hand you have the likes of Jeff Bezos for whom sleep comes before anything else, and on the contrary, you had Nikola Tesla, Voltaire and Thomas Edison who survived on barely any sleep. These men were so devoted to their craft that things like sleep couldn’t interfere with their work; they all routinely slept for all of 4-6 hours. You decide which habit brings out the best in you, sleeping a lot or considerably less sleep.

#5. Never quit

Giving up easily is not a good habit, and instead, you should have a steely resolve that can’t ever break you down despite the circumstances. A total of 10 publishers had turned down JK Rowling before her book Harry Potter could be accepted, but she never gave up.

Yes, Habits Mold You For The Better

Yes, good habits are essential for success.

No, Its Highly Unlikely

As far as following the successful people is concerned, it is something that we might or might not apply. See, there are many angles to it.

First, the habit might really work but only after a lot of practice, which takes time, which we don't have. And even if we do, we do not give it.

Second, the habit might not work at all in the first case, due to the flaw in the person concerned or the habits per say.

Third, there is also a possibility of judgement. We see successful people and all that comes in our mind is to either be like them or marry them. Marrying is easier, but being like them is tough. Although whatever habits they have and whatever things they say is considered to be the best and ideal and we blindly start following it which takes us nowhere.

These cases make me feel that all the 'following the successful' is crap and everyone who becomes successful is called the Amazing!
