A problem mostly starts due to anger, don’t you think? Everyone gets angry at some point in time and respond to it in various ways. Anger is fanatical and a high-level emotion which is expressed and comes either out of nowhere or it acts as an obsession.
Anger instigates either due to irritation, false accusations, teasing, underestimating someone, destroying stuff of others and the like. This emotion is very strong and it can even go to the extent of killing a person.
People respond to anger in different ways. Some are quick-tempered, they get angry for a short time and it goes away. Some get very aggressive; they explode like a volcano and then calm down. It acts like a tide, increasing and decreasing. For some, it is a habit and they can’t stop themselves from being angry.
Various response of anger are:
The Fire: This is the fiery phase. It is the high level of anger. In this response, the angry person would be so aggressive that he or she would break stuff, especially the thing they find first, and after that, they tend to calm down. The angry person would say anything to the victim, which can hurt them very deeply. This kind of anger can even go to the extent of physically wounding the person. Angry bickering can lead to this or by doing a loathing stuff. The happiness around can be lost due to it. It will affect the people about and also to the one who is angry. The poet Maya Angelou says “Bitterness is like cancer. It eats upon the host. But anger is like fire. It burns it all clean."
The Strike: This response is the middle-level anger. The angry person would be angry from like months against another person and would burst one day and embarrass the other person in front of others. It starts as a spark and mushrooms inside the mountain like lava and then when it turns forceful, it explodes. This anger cannot be seen until it vents out. It can be caused due to penetrating annoyance, demeaning a person and the like. This anger will mostly affect the angry person as it is internally faded. It will strike once which will totally humiliate the other person. When anger is let out, then only there will be freedom.
The Still: This anger is very subtle. The angry person would keep all the anger inside. He or she won’t show their anger at any point in time. This kind of response is silent, restrained and it tends to leave the other person confused. Their only reaction would be that they wouldn’t do things properly with an innocent look. This anger deeply affects the one who is angry and it can lead to stress and even to depression. Mark Twain opines, “Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.” The damage to oneself is far more dangerous than to others. It is still but excruciating for the angry person.
Thus, anger is very detrimental to ourselves and others about us. One should channel out anger by either distracting oneself or by counting numbers. One’s focus on something else when angry is a great way of letting go of all the agony.
“Anybody can become angry — that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way — that is not within everybody's power and is not easy.” (Aristotle)
Anger is dangerous in any form.
