First Time In The Century: A Total Eclipse Over Fourteen American Sates

For the first time in 99 years, America will see a total coast to coast solar eclipse in August. The authorities have announced a total solar eclipse on 21st August 2017. The eclipse is said to draw 14 states, from Oregon to South Carolina into a state of darkness. This will be the first Pacific to Atlantic eclipse in a century.

U.S. witnessed a total eclipse in the year 1979 as well. However, it was visible across only six northwestern states.

The news of the event has triggered thrill and excitement among the people. There are possibilities of watching parties and traffic jams. This may be one of the most popular and most viewed eclipses in the history. Thousands of libraries across the States have planned to hand out cardboard mounted solar filters. NASA has decided to put eleven space crafts into use in order to study this eclipse.
