While women use theirs to feed their offspring, men have no practical use for them; some might say that these add to the aesthetics. The reason why men have nipples is that we all start off as a female. During the initial weeks of the pregnancy, all embryos, whether male or female, follow the same blueprint for development. It is during the sixth to seventh week of gestation that the Y chromosome comes into action and leads to the development of the testicles.

It is after the formation of the testicles that the male fetus begins to produce testosterone, the male hormone, and alter the genetic activity of the cells in the brain and genitals. However, before the testicles develop in a fetus, nipples have already emerged near the underarms of the embryo. Therefore, as the fetus develops into a male or a female, these remain with the body.
As you may already know, nipples in women do not merely produce milk but are also a significant part of their sexual pleasure as these contain a great amount of nervous tissue. What might be amusing for you to know is that men nipples are no different in this regard and they are also quite sensitive to touch, adding to the sexual pleasure. The greater the sexual pleasure means more the urge to indulge in sexual activity. This, in turn, ensures the survival of the human race.
