It’s no secret that Apple needs to improve the sleep-tracking capabilities of its gadgets, with extraordinary emphasis on the Apple Smart Watch. Different reports and patents proposed in the past that Apple is keen on helping users improve their sleep by offering built-in sleep tracking features into its devices. And at last Apple made a move that further confirms that particular idea. The organization quietly acquired another company that specializes and deals in sleep.
Called Beddit, the organization provides a sleep tracking application and a piece of hardware that is now accessible for sale in retail stores of Apple. The Beddit3 Sleep Monitor is a sensor strip that can be put under the bedsheet to track your movements while you are asleep, and it is available for sale at $149 at Apple.
Apple did not declare about the purchase of Beddit, but CNBC found on Beddit’s site an updated privacy policy that revealed the confirmation that Apple purchased the company. “Beddit has been acquired by Apple,” the note, dated May 8,2017 reads. “Your personal data will be collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the Apple Privacy Policy.”
How much Apple paid for purchasing Beddit and whether Apple will keep on making Beddit hardware in the future these information are not known yet. The most logical move for Apple would be now to integrate Beddit technology into watchOS and remove the need of a standalone tracker. The watch does need frequent charging and many people choose to charge the wearable at night. That means any sleep-tracking features will not work as the user would require of actually wearing the device while sleeping.
No, if you have enough money to spend on leisure then you can buy it, but if your income is not that much, then it is not worth full buying Apple Watch 3.
