While watching a TV show or a movie, we often find ourselves standing at a juncture where there are characters we love to love and then there are those who we love to hate. The great thing about the latter is that they keep us hooked to the show more than the ones we love because of the simple reason that we want to see them destroyed.
While their defeat and destruction might not come until the end, we end up forming cult hatred towards certain characters. This article is to talk about these most hated characters across movies and TV that everyone loves to hate.
From Jar-Jar to some of the Lannisters, you’ll come across various characters that you hate or once hated. Take a look:
#1. Jar-Jar Binks (Star Wars Trilogy)
While most of Jar Jar’s traits might come out as funny, people clearly don’t think so. Fans of 'Star Wars' have nicknamed this alien as “Satan spawn” and that should give you an idea of the hatred that this creature gets. He is the epitome of a character who people want to punch in the face. You’re bound to despise Jar Jar Binks if you watched the original Star Wars trilogy.

#2. Joffrey Baratheon (Game of Thrones)
Let's just admit; the viewers were happier than Sansa Stark or Tyrion Lannister for that matter to see Joffrey die a shameful and cowardly death. That doesn’t make us bad people at heart; it’s just how evil and wicked this little boy was. A result of an intimate relationship between brother and sister, there was never anything Joffrey could’ve been proud of, but he remains to be the proudest character of the series. We all know he did wrong in his little lifetime that his death brought a lot of pleasure to the fans.

#3. Cersei Lannister (Game of Thrones)
Remember Joffrey’s mother who made out with her brother? Well, say hello to the Queen of the seven kingdoms, Cersei Lannister. The single most cruel and wicked lady you’ll find on the hit show, Cersei has been behind causing many people all sorts of troubles. To name a few of her wrong doings, she’s killed people, tortured them and she really doesn’t hold anyone in the same regard as hers. She is pompous and wild and that makes us hate her even more. The fact that she is still going strong even after 6 seasons adds to that hatred.

#4. Janice (FRIENDS)
Okay, so let’s just come back to someone who is not half as bad as Cersei or Joffrey, but is equally hated. Janice was a tolerable character in the beginning and we even felt bad for her a little, but that soon changed and we were sick of her thin shrill voice. She had the habit of showing up at wrong places and somehow things would always work in her favor. We didn’t like Chandler and Janice together and perhaps their relationship was a major reason why all of us hated her, equally.

#5. Draco Malfoy (Harry Potter)
If you loved the trio of Harry, Hermoine, and Ron, you’re bound to hate Draco Malfoy. He was interfering in everything that our beloved did and he also tried to kill our favorite wizard for which he deserves all the hate he gets. You might say he is a good guy deep inside, but unfortunately, that won’t stop anyone from hating him, if not more.

#6. Bella Swan (Twilight)
Okay, this might sound like what is a protagonist doing here, but let’s just admit it. Bella Swan was a hated character in an equally hated franchise. She was boring and her life was, mundane. To fix that, she thought hooking up with a vampire would be a good idea and that caused all sorts of trouble to her and everyone around her. When Bella and her vampire lover combine, what follows is equally bad and hateful.

#7. Skyler White (Breaking Bad)
Not all people might agree on this, but Walter White’s interfering wife does get a lot of hatred. We all loved Heisenberg and his pursuits with meth and whenever Skyler would show up, we knew that it is going to take us away from the exciting life of Heisenberg and pull us to petty household fights. She gave away all the money that her husband earned without ever knowing how difficult it was to earn all that in the first place. She redeems herself in the final episode, but it seems that was not enough.
