PM Modi's move to raise Balochistan issue in I-Day address. Justified?

Pakistan has been an epitome of terror, especially for India. The nasty activities have continued since it became an independent country. Pakistan claims Kashmir as a disputed territory and both countries have fought wars on this issue.

Lately, however, Pakistan has realized that it cannot get better off of India in any direct war. This has led to change in its strategy and it is fuelling cross-border terrorism in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. This consistent meddling by Pakistan in India’s internal affairs has forced India to change its foreign policy in respect of Pakistan.

A strong message was sent by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the leadership in Pakistan on the occasion of India’s Independence Day when he voiced his open support the oppressed people of Baluchistan.

India was forced to speak in favor of people of Baluchistan since Pakistan has been openly instigating people in Jammu and Kashmir and has been fuelling terrorism forcefully since the death of militant commander Burhan Wani.

Baluchistan is a rich oil resource region in Pakistan though the leadership in that country had forcefully occupied the region in May 1948. The struggle of the people in Baluchistan has been going on since then and the major concern has been that Pakistan is taking away all the oil resources of the region while the local community remains mute and unattended.

On the contrary, a democratically elected Government is in place in Jammu and Kashmir, yet the Pakistani leadership has been instigating terrorism in India. Ever since Narendra Modi has taken up the cause of people of Baluchistan not only has he received support from Baloch leaders but the world community has also taken a note of their miseries.

A Strong statement by American leadership in support of India is a testimony to the fact that Narendra Modi is on the right path and has done service to the people OF Balochistan by taking up their cause strongly.
