An Indian-origin man was assaulted by some teenagers in Australia in an attempted hate crime. The man named as Li Max Joy now says that this hatred could be due to change in racial mood due to swearing in of Donald Trump in the United States of America.
If this could be one of the reasons for the alleged race attacks in Australia, it could be the beginning of a dangerous trend as more such attacks could follow across the world. Li Max who is otherwise doing a nursing course is also a part time taxi driver in Tasmania. He said that a group of teenagers including a girl hurled abuses at him and he was assaulted at the McDonald's restaurant.

He was of the firm view that racial mood was definitely changing across the globe. He also pointed that many of this other friends were also similarly abused and assaulted but none of them had ever reported such cases.
He said that he was living with his family in Hobart for over eight years now and this was the second such incident with him in past one week. Meanwhile, official condemnation of this incident is still awaited and such hate crimes are causing a sense of panic among Indian community across the world.
