Can a 30 minute walk boost positivity in advanced Cancer patients ?

A new survey rather an experiment done on advanced cancer patients gave positive results. This news is in itself a boon to the cancer patients. This research conducted in the University of UK definitely adds something to the list of the things that are considered positive for these patients.

The study states that a 30 minutes’ walk can help the advanced patients build positivity. This has been in news headlines and is sure to help the patients and their loved ones. One thing has to be kept in mind is that such studies are conducted under the supervision of experienced experts and within tight schedules. The details of the research must be read first.

The patients are kept under observation as per following conditions -

1. A complete plan is put forth for the observation.

2. The patients are chosen ones.

3. Their disease history is thoroughly studied.

4. Experts are available to follow the plan.

5. Doctors are available round the clock.

6. A proper diet plan is followed for the patients.

7. The surrounding environment is kept favorable.

8. The situation is always kept under control.

A common thinking is that cancer patients should do least amount of activity to reduce the cancer cells from multiplying. However Indian classics have provided the experience of the ancient scholars who have given a compact system of ‘yoga’ and ‘pranayam’ that boosts up the immune system of the body and these have helped in cancer also.

The new study on walking has many plus points

 Walking is the cheapest exercise (keep in mind the amount of money needed while undergoing treatment)

 It is the safest exercise any patient in advanced condition can think of.

 Psychologically it has a good impact on the mind of the patient. Walking allows the patient to move about, meet people, laugh out the illness and feel good.

 Social cohesion turns their negative view about their disease into positive. It makes the patients feel emotional attachment and get social security.

 The smile on the patients’ face makes the loved ones tension free and feel relaxed.

Things to be kept in mind while following such studies

 Consult the physician before allowing the patient for the walking.

 Read the results of the study thoroughly, if possible contact the researchers for guidelines to be followed.

 A proper diet plan has to be followed, which should include fruits and proteins to enhance their health. A dietitian can be consulted as per requirement of the patient

 A proper schedule for the walking or any other activity has to be planned with the experts.

 A healthy environment has to be created during such activities.

 The patient must be consulted before the exercise begins about his/her readiness for the activity.

 The other people who are around the patient must be well informed about what is going on so they can act properly in case of emergency.

 However the surroundings must kept as informal as possible for the patients to feel free from the tension of the disease.

Last but not the least; let the patient feel the life around him/her instead of the negative vibes of the disease. A positive feel can do wonders which an expensive medicine cannot do.

Yes , a 30 minutes of walking daily for a cancer patient will gain him a lot of benefit. But before starting to walk for the daily routine he must consult a doctor first and then he must obey according to the doctors instruction.
