Did you know raw pineapples imbibe a lot of fiber and sugar which is naturally processed? They could bestow your dog with negative results. It should be noted that consumption of a lot of fiber can lead to digestive problems such as constipation in your dog. On the other hand, sugar in abundance can result in your dog being obese and may lead to diabetes.
Always remember that your canine’s stomach is not meant to consume a lot of sugar. Anything in larger amount will most certainly result in a sad stomach.
Keeping the above reasons in mind, pineapples should be given in a moderate limit and should not be a part of the regular diet.
Also, do not forget to make sure to discard the pineapple skin that is spiky and the tough core as these parts are not safe for your dog to binge on. Offer only the portion which is fleshy and safe for consumption.
Also, when you give your dog a raw pineapple for the first time, give him a little bit. Then, wait for an hour and see how his bodily functions respond to it!

Now that we are aware of the fact that dogs can eat pineapple in moderation, let's move on to another concern. What about the old saying that goes like ‘ dogs who binge on their own poop can stop by eating pineapple?’
The behavior of dogs who eat their own poop is called ‘Coprophagia.' Though, the right reasons have still not been ascertained to the question ‘Why dogs eat their own poop?’
The causes that lead to such situation may be because your dog is not getting enough nutrients from its food which leads to such behavior or the pawed friend might be suffering from a disease that increases the limit of its appetite. No matter what the reasons are, seeing your dog eat its poop can be upsetting! Nobody would like to witness such behavior from their dog!
Although, many people are of the belief that eating pineapple can prevent canines from eating their own poop. The notion of poop eating may change after binging on pineapple. But, much to our sadness, there is no practical evidence to support this statement.
Innumerable people have seen their dogs eating their poop incessantly even after eating pineapple.

They may be more suitable for your dog than fresh ones since they are pre-sliced and processed.
But, pineapples in a can are packed with loads of sweet syrup which contains sugar in high amounts. This isn’t sound for your dog to eat!
A good solution to this could be washing the canned pineapple under fresh running water to remove the extra sugar.
Also, if you get a choice between fresh and canned, choose fresh always without a thought!
