As children, we all would have visited a playground or a park almost every day, but, as we grow older, we become busy with our studies. Especially after starting to work, say, in a private organization, it becomes a dream and we hardly find time to hit the playground/gym to stay fit and healthy.
Life becomes monotonous with work, work, and work and only holiday being the weekends would be spent sleeping most of the time as we tell our parents, spouse and children, that we are tired and would want to take some rest as it is a holiday.
Is this a healthy way of living? No, not. This is one of the reasons for early obesity, high cholesterol, leading to heart attacks, cancer, diabetes, infertility, etc. What can be done for this? A healthy option would be to play in an outdoor playground and stretch out our muscles in a gym.
Immediately, the reason for leading this kind of a sedentary lifestyle would be “no time”. There is no time to play or exercise in a gym. If there is a playground or a gymnasium in the office itself, how wonderful it would be?
Everybody would love and enjoy oneself to go to work if at all there is some time allotted for workouts and playing their favorite sports. It would be like revisiting our childhood days, play happily and let out the stress and strain that we always get engulfed with.
Reasons for a gym/playground:
1. It brings out the socializing mentality of the person as we tend to meet and play with and against many people from the same office whom we would not have even met. We get to know a lot of people and bonding between individuals improve because of this kind of an outburst.
2. Moreover, as we play or workout, physically we become fit and what could be more enjoyable than to burn the extra calories in such a happy way.
3. We can play many games like basketball, volleyball, cricket, badminton, etc. Playing these kinds of games brings out the leadership qualities of an individual especially when the game involves a team work.
4. We become more independent and our self-confidence boosts up to a great level.
5. And also, there is not much exposure to the sunlight when we work indoors, especially for those who work in the night shifts. Recently, there was an outbreak of news that a 24-year-old young girl was not able to walk as her bones became deficient in vitamin D and hence gave away restricting her to a wheelchair. How this happened?, Because for three years she worked on a night shift and in during the daytime, she would sleep in her room, which is air-conditioned with absolutely no exposure to sunlight.
Therefore, it would be a wise idea for all the offices both governments controlled as well as private companies to come out of the conventional way of working style and lend a helping hand to those workaholics so that they not only succeed in their career, but also succeed physically, mentally, and socially.
Say yes to the playgrounds and gymnasiums for a better and healthy future generation.
