I am sharing with you my grandma's cough syrup recipe. It is very easy to prepare with natural ingredients in it. This homemade cough syrup will provide great relief from a cough.
Ingredients needed.
Raw organic honey - half cup
Cinnamon - one tablespoon.
Ginger grated - one tablespoon
Lemon juice is taken from two big lemons.
Pepper - one teaspoon.
Olive oil - Two tablespoons
Ginger and pepper work as an expectorant. It looses the mucous. Honey has antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. Lemon juice is rich in vitamin C. It boosts our immune system. Lemons have antibacterial and antiviral properties.
Grate the ginger and strain the juice. Heat all the ingredients, except the lemon juice. Boil till it starts steaming. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Add lemon juice to this mixture. Pour into a container and close with a tight lid. Store in your refrigerator. Use this for allergies and cold. Warm and stir before use.
Dosage - One tablespoon every four hours for adults and one teaspoon for children below 12 years. Children under 5 years - half teaspoon.
The shelf life of this recipe is two months. You can also recommend this syrup to your friend suffering from a cough & cold.
