Water chestnut (called Singhara in India) is a vegetable. They have a crunchy texture. The edible part of this vegetable is white in colour. Water chestnuts are highly nutritious. They are low in calories and fat free. It can be used in powdered form (flour) for making rotis or in curries, pizzas, salads and soups.
