Types of Tea and their Health Benefits

Originated from ‘God-knows-where’ tea is a fundamental home drink now. Every household fancies the contrast in the taste of tea-sugar-milk-water mixture. And, why not? Tea can be prepared through n-number of ways, knowing its daily benefits. It was used as a medicine in the ancient era. Let’s know the benefits of different types of tea.

Types of tea and their benefits:

1. White tea- White tea is a preparation of uncured and unfermented tea leaves. It is known to help in the prevention of some cancers.



2. Black tea- It is prepared by fermenting the tea leaves, which enhance its flavor and color. As the name suggests, black tea is black in color and helps in reducing the risk of stroke and is also, good for lungs.



3. Green tea- Green tea is a prepared by steaming the tea leaves. It is known for weight reduction. It prevents the clogging of arteries and improves cholesterol.



4. Oolong tea- This tea is prepared by bruising and then fermenting the tea leaves. The bruising method embeds the flavor within. It helps in maintaining the cholesterol level in the body.



5. Lemon-ginger tea- Lemon-ginger tea is the best medicine for a cough cold and is known to have an immediate effect.



6. Chamomile tea- Chamomile is a herb that helps in reduction of stress and digestion of food.



7. Lemongrass tea- Lemongrass is a herb used as a flavoring agent in many Asian cuisines. It has a wide range of ailment and helps in digestion of food, fighting cancer, reduction of body odor, controlling cholesterol level in the body etc.
