#1.It can be used to denote an incident or a situation that is cruel. It can be used to refer to anything that is cruel. For example: “A savage dog attacked the young man.” “That was a savage attack on the lonely old lady.” Here the dog and is addressed as cruel because of his wild actions. The incident where in an old lady was attacked violently is being addressed as savage.
#2. It can be used to express the disapproval for something. When you refer to people as savage you are expressing your dissatisfaction with them. You are disapproving their behavior or deeds. You find what do to be either violent or negative.
#3. You can also use the word to denote something that took place with a person as savage. In that case, the usage of the word changes. You use it as savaged. For example: “The victim was savaged by the killer.”
#4. We also use the word in place of a negative opinion or remark about a thing or a piece of art. It is used for critiquing purposes. “The book had been savaged by critiques.”
