Love is the backbone of life on earth. On this planet, no living being can survive without love. Love encourages and provides support when you are down and reduces the pain of loneliness.
Love is unconditional and involves opening up and trusting one another. It is false to say love makes one weaker. It hurts when you love someone truly and not being reciprocated. But suffering doesn’t make you weak.
Making yourself vulnerable doesn't make you weak. In fact, I’d say surviving that truly dreadful experience of feeling rejected, having the ability to overcome the sense of rejection and moving on without losing hope in life is what love teaches us.
Love makes you more emotional, but with it comes a sense of responsibility and maturity. Love gives you a feeling of belongingness. It relieves you of depression, supports and stands by you in any success or hardships.
When love fades, doubts feed us with insecurities making us instinctively fear love and hence making us weak. True love (I know it sounds heavy), makes us strong and gives us wings to fly. We can reach heights that we can only dream of otherwise. It makes us feel good about ourselves and feeds the mind, the body, the soul, the life, and the entire being and gives us the courage to overcome any adversities in our life.
For instance, mother’s love is the most divine and unconditional form of love in existence. Does being concerned and worried for their children and might be touchy about their well-being make them weak? Not at all, rather when it comes to taking hard decisions and protecting her children there is no stronger force than a mother's love.
In any form of life, there is this primitive urge, this strength that comes from love, true unconditional love. Make sure to put aside the thoughts about weakness so that you can experience it too.
