Eating healthy is first and foremost way which can help in uplifting mood in general, there are some foods that can help with serotonin, the chemical in the brain that contributes to “happy.” Foods that can help get rid of depression are Fish-oil, food that are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids , healthy fast for e.g. coconut oil, Flax seed oil, Sour Cherries and eggs. 

While there are many health benefits of Coffee that we all are aware of, but depression and coffee doesn't mix well. So avoid coffee if you are going through any sort of depression or if your mood is low.
