We need to make our atmosphere free from toxic chemicals. Pesticides are used to kill certain organisms. They are toxic in nature. Pesticides are linked with human and animal health hazards. Short term problems may be headache, nausea, eye irritation etc. Other serious effects may be cancer, poisoning, hormone imbalances and nerve damage.
Pesticides can be absorbed by soil. They can also be absorbed by plants when sprayed in farms. They can get accumulated in ponds, lakes and rivers. It may also get stored in animals. They get move up in the food chain.
Pesticides can cause many cancers like ovarian cancer or breast cancer. Testis cancer may be caused in men. It is reason for many other cancers like skin and liver cancer. Pesticides are linked with male and female infertility. Gardeners who are exposed to pesticides are more prone to brain damage and sperm damage.

Studies have proved that there is a link between pesticides and birth defects. Pregnant mothers who are exposed to pesticides used for mosquitoes and fleas gave birth to children with birth defects like heart defects and limb defect.
