Why being single is awesome?

The word 'Singles' consists of seven letters and so does the word 'Awesome'.

You work all day, you come home tired and then you want to take a nice bath, but you receive a message- "It's not working!" How would you feel? Would you manage to handle that? I don't know if you would manage to do that, in any case, welcome to the world of singles! The world where there are obligations. But only to yourself. There is a lot of time, only for yourself. These are the times, where everyone has a girlfriend/boyfriend, people who choose to be single are the best kind of people.

There are reasons to it.

1) You can do anything you like; you can do anything you want. Even if you do anything stupid, nobody's opinion matters to you.

2) You don't have obligations. If you are one of the people who has chosen to be single, it is mostly because you love your "me" time. You are single not because you can live alone. You are single because you enjoy your company the most. The best part is that you have obligations to yourself. You have obligations to work, things and not people.

3) Your money is saved. Just in the last month, there was the occasion of friendship day. All my committed friends bought expensive gifts for their partners. One of my friends bought a Rs 500 Panda pillow for his girlfriend. Imagine! Rs 500 just for a pillow. That too she had to answer all her mother's questions when she saw that.

4) You are who you are. You don't change just because someone wants you to change. You don't run for the people to like you. You know that the most empowering thing is to be yourself and love the way you live.

It's a weird world we live in- we are taught from the childhood that you are born into this world alone, and you die alone. But as we grow up, we are always told that we have to live for romance, for love. We will meet a 'Special person' someday. But the truth is, yes, you are born to love, but to love yourself first and then love others selflessly.

Today, most of the people get into relationships just because it's cool; they get into relationships because they constantly want someone to be with them. If you can't even be okay with yourself, how could you be okay with someone else? Single people know how to love, but they also know that love will come to them eventually. Right now, there are many other things to do. Like being in a relationship with work! Singles know how to be happy, they don't search for happiness on their own. It's what makes us singles special, isn't it?
