Does waking up in the morning with red or purple bruises on multiple parts of your body imply that you probably were a little too wild inside the bedroom? We guess you surely did! The ugly patches right there on your neck might remind you of the passionate love that your partner made to you; we suggest you dig a little deeper.
Hickeys are often referred to as ‘love bites’ or ‘kiss marks’ and are caused by either biting or intense sucking at your partner’s flesh. Hickeys are known for their sexual nature and are usually a result of some intimate moments in the bed.
Hickeys can be on the stomach, on the chest, on the breasts, on the neck or the inside of the thighs, depending on your partner’s mood. Sex on the first nights could get really hot and your partner’s crazy passion might end up bruising your body way too much to hide.

Biting each other on all the wrong places while making love or merely having sex is one of the most abnormal yet adoring things to do. But do you know that hickeys could actually be bad for the skin?
While they might be good for the soul, they are not good for the body. Apart from leaving ugly marks on your frame, these love bites might even break your blood vessels (capillaries) if too much pressure is forced into the body. The skin swells up and turns red and eventually looks like a terrible yellow blotch on your skin.
If love gives you a new life then how can a love bite take it away? Hickeys might be gross to look at, but they are not fatal. Yes, hickeys do not cause cancer. While some tend to enjoy their partner’s bite, others find it too hot to handle. Often found on the neck, hickeys could vary in sizes depending on how strongly the skin was sucked.

Hickeys are bad if you do not want your skin to be marked. Also,
#1. Hickeys can stay with you for quite a while because they do not have a permanent cure. It might fade away with time, till then dig in your closet and find all your scarfs to cover up that bruised neck.
#2. Because of the damage to your capillaries, hickeys might give you a blood clot.
#3. This one does sound disgusting, but hickeys might give way to herpes to travel down your veins. While oral herpes isn’t that common, but if you are unlucky enough, then your love bite might not turnout to be that lovely for you.
#4. Regular hickeys on your body are not a sign of your partner’s abundant passion for you, but an indication of you being iron deficient. Lack of iron in the blood might be the cause behind your bruised skin. Add-on some green leafy vegetable and red meat in your diet to get rid of unwanted hickeys.

While hickeys leave a lasting effect on your memory, it does the same on your skin too. Hickey scars do not fade away easily. They take their own pace of time to leave your body. Apart from eating healthy and staying dehydrated, rubbing your hickey scars with ice cubes or an ice pack might speedup up the process. And if nothing works, rely on your high neck sweaters and mufflers to prevent public embarrassments.
