We are living in times where slang and short words have become common terms to use amongst millennials. Words such as BAE, hashtag TBT, SOS and HMU have gained the humungous amount of popularity and their usage is vast. The term #TBT means ‘ThrowBack Thursday' and holds good relevance in the lives of the youth since we all love to look back at our memories once in a while. Don’t we? Yes! We do, just to cry with joy when we give a glance at old pictures.
Do you post a picture of what you do every Thursday and upload it on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. using the #TBT hashtag? Then, let me tell you, friend, you are ‘TBT’ inflicted.

The origination of TBT is much older than Facebook or Instagram. According to ‘Know Your Meme,' it first made its entry into the Urban Dictionary in the year 2003. The usage of the word had been good enough for a number of people for its retro theme until around 2010 and 2011. Now it’s a big deal for the youth today after the advent of Instagram.

TBT has gained so much fame that it has started to develop business ideas for social media apps such as ‘Lango’. They created a pack of animations based on ‘Throwback Thursdays,’ and they have an appealing way to spice up your nostalgic pictures. They introduce new items every week in the same category such as Jennifer Aniston’s head circa-Friends or 90’s rap-themed animations like Snoop Dogg and Biggie.

The popular social media app lets you make your #Throwback Thursdays more communal by letting you tag your friends in old pictures. You may become more popular by tagging them in school pictures or baby pictures than in highlights of one of the trips you had taken in the past. Also, remember not to post 1000+ pictures using the tag every Thursday. Exercise some restraint and post up to one or two every week.
You must remember that you need not have 1K followers to get used to this trend, just a few nostalgia tinged photos could help you in getting associated with this ongoing vogue.
Are you #TBT fan too? How often do u use it on your social media?
